- Front Mission Online beta applications begin
Yesterday Square Enix began accepting applications for the first phase of its beta testing for Front Mission Online, which will take place in no less than three phases. While the first is concerned with actual gameplay, the second and third phases will test of the game in terms of PS2 in conjuction with PC usage, with the clear implication of connectivity. So, all of you who reside in Japan and own broadband-connected PS2s can feel free to head to the FMO official site and sign up. 1Up
- First details on Front Mission Online
Famitsu also has new information on Front Mission Online, a title that has remained in the background so far. The title now appears to be nearly ready to enter beta testing later this year with a 2005 release on PS2 and PC to follow, and is reportedly of the \"action simulation\" genre, giving players the option to enter battle either as a single unit or as part of an army or platoon.

According to Gamefront, Square Enix has ..done something, that relates to something, that maybe registered a trademark or something and which all boils down to Front Mission Online being released towards the end of the year and using a global communication network to send players strategy guides. Yay?
